Position: System ArchitectWe are seeking a System Architect to join our team in Delft .
Role OverviewAs a Software Architect working on CubeSats, you will oversee mission-specific software, firmware, and gateware functionalities, focusing on their impact on system-level performance. Your main responsibility will be the architectural design and integration of these functionalities.
Main Challenges- Including a new, integrated CDH&TTC subsystem.
- Implementing redundancy.
- Implementing a dual redundant Communication Bus.
- Meeting Operational Science as a Service requirements.
- Aligning with customer requirements on Product Assurance, process, and development.
This is a temporary position with an initial duration of 6 to 12 months. Extension is possible but not guaranteed. We accept freelancers, with an hourly rate up to EUR 75.
Responsibilities- Perform flowdown of system requirements to subsystem requirements for software/firmware/gateware in the product tree.
- Define the development approach for these items and communicate with customers to align on it.
- Coordinate development of delegated items within the product tree.
- Initially focus on processes—software development standards, frameworks, etc.—and later shift focus to the software itself.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have relevant education in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or similar, or equivalent experience.
- Are systems thinkers capable of understanding architecture, interactions, performance, and processes.
- Can define software/firmware/gateware structures and make high-level design decisions.
- Experience in the Space industry and familiarity with standards like ECSS is highly preferred.
- Possess excellent communication skills in English.
- Are passionate about space and satellites.
- Thrive in a high-energy, dynamic environment where passion and practicality are valued.
